Sugarland is an American country music duo composed of singer-songwriters Jennifer Nettles (lead vocals) and Kristian Bush (background vocals, mandolin, acoustic guitar). Sugarland was founded in 2003 by Kristen Hall(who left the group in 2006 to concentrate on her songwriting) and Kristian Bush, Jennifer Nettles was then brought in as lead singer. Prior to the inception of Sugarland, all three members had been members of various folk rock groups. Bush, additionally, was once one-half of the duo Billy Pilgrim, which recorded for Atlantic Records in the 1990s.

Signed to Mercury Nashville Records in 2004, Sugarland broke through that year with the release of their debut single "Baby Girl", the first single from their multi-platinum debut album Twice the Speed of Life. This album produced three more chart singles for the group in the tracks "Something More", "Just Might (Make Me Believe)", and "Down in Mississippi (Up to No Good)".

After Hall's departure, Sugar land recorded its second album (2006's Enjoy the Ride), which was certified 2× Multi-Platinum like its predecessor. This album also produced Sugarland's first two Number Ones in "Want To" and "Settlin'", as well as additional Top Tens in "Everyday America" and "Stay". In 2006, Nettles served as a duet partner on Bon Jovi's first country single "Who Says You Can't Go Home" (also a Number One on the country charts), while in 2007, Sugarland also received the Country Music Association's Duo of the Year award. "All I Want to Do" was issued in June 2008 as the lead-off to their third studio album, Love on the Inside and in August 2008 it has become Sugar land's third Number One country hit.

Taylor Swift Change is an upbeat song chosen by the U.S. Olympic Team because of its theme about overcoming obstacles to meet your goals. Taylor Swift Change will definately change her status. From Country Icon, to just plain icon.  Just You wait.  This PA born singer/songwriter has only begun to show the talents that have those in the know hungry to find out what's going to happen next for this young star.

If "Change" is any indication, we should have a more pop, cross-over possibilities.  Either way, Change is coming for Taylor Swift.

The Reading, PA native prides herself on her songwriting, and with 5 top 40 hits on one CD, its safe to say, the hard work has paid off for this young singer, and we may be calling them the "Taylor Swift Country Music Awards" or "Taylor Swift Awards" before long.  People say she's beautiful, and has a great stage presence, but one thing that everyone agrees on, is that Taylor Swift is not your average Teen Idol.  This one signed a songwriter at 13 and writes her own songs.  Most seasoned Country Music Veterans don't do that.

Taylor Swift was born in Reading, Pennsylvania and lives with her parents in Hendersonville, Tennessee.  Taylor Swift lists her major  influences as her grandmother and Le Anne Rimes.  Although her grandmother was a professional opera singer, Taylor's taste has always run more toward country music and Taylor Swift developed a love for both Patsy Cline and Dolly Parton at an early age.  Swift also credits the Dixie Chicks and Shania Twain.  At the young age of ten, Swift began to perform around her home

town, singing at karaoke contests, festivals, and fairs, and then she  also started writing songs.  At age 11, Swift made her first trip to Nashville in hopes of obtaining a record deal by handing out a demo tape she had made of her singing along to karaoke songs. She handed this tape to receptionists at every label on Music Row. After Swift returned to Pennsylvania, she was asked to sing at the U.S. Open tennis tournament, when Taylor Smith's rendition of the national anthem moved the crowd. Swift signed to a record label when she was 13 years old, but walked away because it "wasn't where she wanted to be.

Swift began to regularly visit Nashville, where, at age 12, she wrote songs with local songwriters. Eventually, her family decided to move to an outlying Nashville suburb. Taylor Swift performed at Nashville's premier songwriters' café, The Bluebird Café, catching the attention of Scott Borchetta who signed her to his newly-formed record label, Big Machine Records.

Jonathan Byrd was born in 1970 in Fayettevill N.C.On Friday the 13th, November 1970, I was born at the Cape Fear Valley Hospital in Fayetteville, North Carolina, and moved to Fort Worth, Texas when he was about 2.

Jonathan Byrd started going to Clifftop and Mt. Airy and finding Old-time jams at home and on the road, anywhere his new friends lived around the age of 25. Byrd started touring full-time in 2000, realizing that he could do it as a solo performer and actually make a living.

In 2002, he went to the Kerrville Folk Festival in Texas, where there are lots of these folk musicians, only mostly songwriters. At the 2003 festival, he won the New Folk competition and got hired on as a performer for the next three years.

The newest record is "The Law and the Lonesome." The ghost of Townes Van Zandt meets Hank Williams on the high plains. Chris Bartos produced and recorded it in Toronto. Keeping with the trend established by "Radio Soul," it was recorded in four days.

The song, "Forgiveness," is found on the Flat Mountain Girls' new CD, "Idle Talk & Wicked Deeds," their third, and a fine capture of their take on old-time music.

Band founders Rachel Gold (vocals/banjo) and Lisa Marsicek (vocals/fiddle) have added the delightfully buoyant vocals and guitar of Nann Alleman and Misty River bassist Laura Quigley. All are featured admirably on this recording. The 15 tunes fairly leap from stereo speakers with urgency and punch.

Long known for their tight-as-a-whiskey-bottle-cork harmonizing, the members also are sparkling instrumentalists. They move effortlessly from Appalachian to Carter Family tunes, with side trips to Texas for swing and blues, rousing Southern fiddle tunes, even a gripping ballad.
