Little Country Giants

These wonderful, acoustic performers hailing from Rome, GA, have been voted “Best Traditional Folk Act” (Reader’s Choice), for Creative Loafing’s “Best of Atlanta” issue for both 2005 and 2006. David Eduardo of AthensMusic.com says:

“The music performed by Little Country Giants dates to an era where cowboys were becoming an endangered species–but well before Nashville endorsed drawstring linen pants, highlighted hair, and expensive porcelain teeth…(They) take listeners to the front porch of an antebellum mansion. Everyone gets a rocking chair, and the fire flies flames are never extinguished.”

Well said, and dead-on accurate. Check out the Giants’ album, Sing Pretty for the People, and you’ll get a good taste of what all these folks are talking about.

Russell and Cameron Lee Cook of the Little Country Giants were our first-ever guests in our new studio, as they stopped by “The Gumbo Show with Joe” in May ‘07. Listen to the interview right here!
