She will be performing tonight at the Country Music Hall of Fame, at a fundraising event for the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America. Also performing: Kathy Mattea , Katie Armiger , Lani Nash , and Mindy Smith . Emily West has a personal connection with the disease- her grandmother suffered from it for 8 years.

Intern Kerri here! Darryl Worley is hoping to inspire the Tennessee Titans football team with a new theme song. Darryl wrote Bring It On with quarterback Kerry Collins and songwriter Jim “Moose” Brown , to be used as the new theme song for Tennesse Titans Radio. The song will be used for the first time, Sunday, Oct. 11, when the Titans take on the Indianapolis Colts. Darryl will be making a special appearance on the radio show before the game.

Intern Jenny here! A new live-music web series debuts on Sunday. It’s called Best New Nashville, and will showcase a bunch of new artists. The show taping is free and open to the public, and will take place at Opry Mills. The first segment will feature: Sarah Darling , Matt Gary , Samantha Landrum , and Jordan Humphrey . Teddy Gentry ( Alabama ) will also be there to offer advice to the new artists. Sunday’s show starts at 2:30pm. If you can’t make it out to Opry Mills, you can catch the performances on BNN’s website .

One of country music biggest stars, Taylor Swift, has announced they she will continue with her current “Fearless” tour into 2010. She will kick off the tour on March 4, 2010 in Tampa, FL. She currently has 37 shows on the lineup but no venues have been set. The tour will wrap up on June 2 in Washington DC. Her new tour will include many multi night stay in cities such as, Philadelphia, PA on March 18-19, Detroit, MI on March 26-27, Denver, CO on April 6-7 along with other.

Roman White 's childhood sounds like something out of a country singer's bio. He grew up spending time on his grandparent's farm and listening to the Grand Ole Opry on their big radio. "It was part of my Nashville upbringing, and it rooted something deep down inside me," White told me. But that kind of raising doesn't always mean you're going to make music. For White, it meant making music come to life as a director.

You were born ‘Destiny Hope Cyrus’ for a reason.You can’t leave everyone now.We r countin on u.” Shortly after that, he tweeted even more advice for Miley, encouraging her to take her own advice, “I understand it is true ‘one bad apple spoils the bunch’.But listen to the words of your songs ‘Stand… for what ya believe in’…Remember?” Seems like Billy Ray really wants her to return to her tweeting!

One picture and six years later, retro logo Brewers merchandise is still enjoying a popular rebirth. The only thing bigger would be if Tupac Skakur walked in my door alive and well on a Sunday afternoon and started watching pro football with us. Then again, maybe now he would prefer to watch the MLB divisional playoffs.

Constantly, I am reading this battle on the CMT blog between people claiming a certain artist is too pop while another is too country, or not enough, and so on and so forth. It seems to me that many are overlooking the actual music to focus on its classification. I am guilty of this, too. But I remember a lengthy conversation with Kid Rock last year when he told me, "Go where you're celebrated, not tolerated." He said that his friend Rev Run once gave him that advice and Kid went on to explain that country music and hip-hop music parallel and influence one another.

Friday, October 10 th Dante's is having a show with Richmond Fontaine , Federale , and Kelly Blair Bauman . Richmond Fontaine has been around forever. Back when I was in high school I was into this thing called alternative country. There were these bands like Wilco and Slobberbone that seemed to be country music but not all stupid like the stuff played on the radio.

Before I even begin, let me just admit that all the hype about Reverb I’ve been posting on the site over the last couple of years has just been hearsay. I’ve never been to the Ballard Music Extravaganza, let alone witnessing anything to back my comparisons to Bumbershoot or Cap Hill Block Party. Given that the festival consists of all local bands spread over most of Ballard’s best venues, I just guessed that it had to be phenominal. Turns out I’m a real good guesser. .
