Thanks to a TMZ camera man,we’re able to see the much rumored Taylor squared couple having a night out on the town last night at Ruth’s Chris steak house. Taylor Lautner stars in the Twilight,New Moon,and Eclipse movies,and Taylor Swift,of course,is a huge country music star who was recently pushed further into the spotlight when she was rudely interrupted by rapstar Kanye West at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards last month, while she was accepting her award.

Another explanation, of course, could be “Third album by Texas transplant and wordsmith Drew Kennedy;” however, since Kennedy’s musical aesthetic defies mainstream country molds somewhere between Americana and indie singer/songwriter, definitions aren’t nearly as important to this record as directions .

I came across this interesting post about former Celtics star Antoine Walker’s mounting debt. In his hay day, Antoine was pulling in multi-million dollar paychecks. In fact, according to Yahoo! While record sales charts don’t lie, is it possible that country music is underappreciated, at least by most mainstream media outlets? If you flip on the television, you’re likely to see hip-hop artists or rock stars cavorting around as if they’re the only music al genre in existence. Most major music magazines seem to only pay lip service to Country’s biggest stars but disregard fledgling Country bands. On the contrary, most people are aware of “the next big thing” in the rap and rock genres.

This weekend, Broadcast and Atlas Sound, with support from the Selmanaires, will be appearing at Neumos in Seattle on Saturday, Oct. 31, and at the Doug Fir in Portland on Sunday, Nov. 1. Having just seen this same tour last week as part of CMJ, I can draw two conclusions: 1. If you have any interest in the new Atlas Sound album, Logos , go. 2. Broadcast is a perfectly adequate Halloween activity. Concerning 1: The primary draw here is the Atlas Sound show.

You would probably find all of the classic artists, such as, Buck Owens, Merle Haggard, and George Jones. There might be a Sugarland song thrown in there, but that would be to impress the ladies. His rock collection would be just as diverse with the likes of The Rolling Stones, Cream, and Led Zeppelin. Of course, this might be a premature generalization. It probably only has music from the past 15 years.

Intern Jenny here! Vince Gill will host a star-studded event to benefit Students Taking a Right Stand (STARS). This organization helps over 120,000 Middle Tennessee students and their families in overcoming emotional and social barriers to learning. They also have the ‘Kids on the Block’ program, known for using puppets as teaching aids in schools. “An Evening with Vince Gill and Friends” will take place Tuesday, November 3, at the Country Music Hall of Fame.

I’ve heard that several country stars like to show up to see just how KISS puts on a show! Opening band, Buckcherry , takes the stage around 7:30pm. KISS is scheduled to rock your faces off at 8:45pm. BUT be sure to head downtown early to pregame at the ‘Lick it up’ Pre-show Block Party on Lower Broadway. There will be all sorts of goodies.

Intern Jenny here! Country superstar group, Rascal Flatts’s latest album Unstoppable is, well, unstoppable. Of all the country album releases this year, it still holds the record for most albums sold within the first week, selling over 351,000 units. Across all genres, it ranks 5th. The album’s first single, Here Comes Goodbye , also holds a record: Country’s biggest first week digital sales in the history of Nielsen Soundscan! It sold 126,000 units! Unstoppable is only one of three country albums so far this year to reach platinum sales status.

Music from the Thunder Down Under Music Fest resonated the south side of Belmont Residence Hall at Colorado State University–Pueblo as performers and a small crowd withstood the cold weather. Temperatures of 34 degrees, and lower, generated a small crowd of about 15 students to the Thunder Down Under Music Fest on Friday, Oct. 23, and expectations of the student events manager, Mark Bush, fell short. The crowd was sparse at the Thunder Down Unders concert.

I’m not a big fan of C&W music, but I think it is impossible to grow up in Texas and not be exposed to it. There are bands like Poco and Eagles that were heavily influenced by Country Music. Anyway there is a song that expresses some of what I feel every time I think of home, and while I am certainly not in London (I think that would be a darn site better than Iraq) I enjoy and “feel” this song. Official “Twilight Saga: Eclipse” movie logo gets revealed,according to eclipsemovie.org. They report that this official “Twilight Saga: Eclipse” movie logo (above) was tweeted a couple of days ago. The logo uses cold distressed metallic textures with subtle hints of red,which appear primarily around the “P” part. I think the new “Eclipse” logo looks pretty sharp. Hey! It’s intern Kerri! And yep, that’s right. You can catch Keith Urban in concert while you shop for a cell phone. Friday, October 30, Keith will do a meet and greet at the Verizon Wireless store in Cool Springs at 1959 Mallory Lane. The event will start at 2 pm, when 20 fans will be chosen to take part in a meet and greet with Keith inside the store. Then, at 2:20 there will be an acoustic concert adjacent to the store, followed by a Q&A with fans.

Vampires and indie-pop fans, rejoice: The soundtrack to “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” (Chop Shop/Atlantic), which didn’t quite nab No. 1 on last week’s Billboard album chart, has reached that summit in its second week out, with 153,000 sales, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Tim McGraw’s new “Southern Voice” (Curb) opened at No. 2 with 137,000, and Michael Bublé’s “Crazy Love” (143/Reprise), the chart-topper for the last two weeks, falls to No. 3 with 102,000 sales, a one-week drop of 50 percent.

Once again, Special C mandolinist Ashby Frank has been sharing his impressions of the band’s European tour with the readers of The Bluegrass Blog. They were on the continent through October 25, with shows in Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany and Czech Republic. I’m back home again after almost 2 weeks of continuous travel in planes, boats, buses, trains, and a van.

Carrie Underwood’s Some Hearts , hastily made and released some five months after she won the 2005 American Idol crown, was surprisingly solid and tuneful. For her follow-up, producer Mark Bright steers her toward the big Martina McBride skies, with a plethora of strings and huge emotional crescendos. Underwood co-wrote four songs, mostly with the tried-and-true tunesmiths who made Some Hearts soar.

A Copland Celebration Vol. 1 Customer Review: Wide Open Spaces Good recording of an identifiably “American” composer. Whether you believe that his “serious” compositions should out-weigh public attention (and recognition) of his ballet scores is just a matter of taste and exposure. I recommend reading any one of several good biographies available to more fully appreciate his scope and talent. Then check out as many recordings as possible.
