#1 Unsigned Artist Lectures @ U.G.A.

I've gotten a lot of new readers since I "sold out" and started concentrating more on mainstream country, so if you're new around here and haven't heard about Corey Smith, where have you been?

Corey Smith is the #1 Unsigned Country Artist In The U.S.

He's not unsigned because a contract hasn't been offered, he's unsigned because he knows what a lot of us are starting to realize for a while.  The internet has made it possible to be a successful artist without having to sign a big record deal.  He's sold out a 6,000 amphitheater (twice), and he's still really only getting started.  His music speaks for itself, so here's a couple of  my favorites.

Anyway, I ran across this series of videos taken by The UGA Music Dept of a lecture Corey Smith recently gave at the school.  Corey's a former High School teacher, so he knows what he's doing up there.  He kinda talks about how me has become so successful without a record deal.

Go to the lecture -

In the lectures, Smith talks about how its possible to make good money making music without the need of a big record company advance.  If you are a singer, or in a band YOU HAVE TO WATCH THESE.

And you have to read this too!
