Slowly emerging as a force to be reckoned with in the ever-evolving country music scene, the Eli Young band has emerged as a tour de force of pop instrumentals, catchy vocals and the most down home lyrics this side of a young Kenny Chesney.

Their newest single offering, “Radio Waves,” is the third single from their album, Jet Black and Jealous Eli Young Band "Radio Waves". Following the hugely successful “Always the Love Songs” and “When It Rains,” “Radio Waves” could has been gaining country radio play, a spot at Detroit’s Downtown Hoedown and a quick sneak at this year’s CMT awards.

“Radio Waves” follows in the same youthful vein of many Eli Young Band songs, and features young love, young wonder and a lust for wandering and adventure that has propelled the band through nearly five years of small time touring and independent releases.

The Texas foursome offers grinding guitar hooks, catchy bass lines and a simple vocal. With an almost lyrical quality of country guitar licks, “Radio Waves” fits in with the rest of the understated rocker that is the Jet Black and Jealous album.

Singer and lyricist Mike Eli pleads for a lover to hear the radio waves of his emotion across the city and across the frequencies of young love and intimacy. The only way he can relate it; these radio waves tell a similar story as many Eli Young songs.

Obviously in love with the music that has made them a career and may pave a future to fame and fortune, the band pays homage to the radio and its waves not only in this, their new single, but in “Always the Love Songs,” “Guinevere,” “I Call the Tune” and “Everything Is You.”

The honest fan will note that the band takes their craft seriously, and “Radio Waves” is not only rich in virtuoso playing and powerful vocals, but represents the kind of lyrical metaphor reserved for the group who takes their craft seriously.

And that kind of group, newly fore fronted by the Eli Young Band, is the kind of group always taken seriously by fans.

"Radio Waves" Lyrics

Well baby since I met you, I've never been the same
There's never been a woman made me feel this way
And I know days are harder, and i know things have changed
But baby goodbye you know i just can't say

Where'd all the love go
I need you to know
I'm singing out to you
Tell me there's something I can do

Radio waves, can you hear me singing out
I've got something to say
Can't you hear i need you now
I'm calling on the two of us so we can be saved
Listen to my radio waves

Clear across the city, you're lying in your bed
Here I am regretting every word unsaid
The only way I know to help you understand
Is say what's going on the only way I can

Broadcast over FM
Here we are again
I'm singing out to you
Tell me there's something we can do

Love on the radio, Love on the radio
Love on the radio, Love on the radio
Love on the radio, Love on the radio

Love on the radio, Love on the radio
Love on the radio, Love on the radio
Love on the radio, Love on the radio

Listen to my radio waves

Love on the radio, Love on the radio
Love on the radio, Love on the radio
Love on the radio, Love on the radio
