Katie Armiger "Kiss Me Now"
Review by Matthew Fortuna
A veteran of her craft at only 18-years-old, Katie Armiger has a lot of room to get better, but not much need for it. The energetic Texas girl, singer and songwriter is working on her third album for 2010, and already has amassed a following, a cool confidence in her voice and a soon-to-be-hit in “Kiss Me Now.”
The first single from the singer’s upcoming third effort, “Kiss Me Now” was penned by fellow young country divas Sarah Buxton and Blair Daly. Like Buxton, Armiger is one in a line of upcoming talented
country girls with attitudes, independent mind sets, irresistible voices and the kind of appeal that guys can’t say no to and girls could listen to all day long.
“Kiss Me Now” is an urge to stop messing around, the stop being the gentleman-type and just “kiss me now.” With a playful “act first-think later mentality,: Armiger just wants to dive right in, and figure it all out later. The song is charming and sexy, fun and cute, and the kind any girl would air-guitar to in her socks or heels, with a glass of wine and a point to prove.
The song’s infectious guitar compliments the singer’s young Shaina Twain sound and the easy songwriting is the kind that fans have adored from Buxton for over a year, most notably with “Outside My Window.” Armiger is poised to mix the songwriting prowess of Buxton with the flair and come-get-some attitude of Wreckers’ star Jessica Harp. Armiger’s “Kiss Me Now” can’t help but make one think of Harp’s “Boy Like Me,” and Armiger’s new hit does not disappoint.
With a self-titled debut in 2007 and her follow-up “Believe” in 2008, Armiger is on her sixth single and seems to have found the formula. Be on the lookout for “Kiss Me Now” on country radios and stations, and be ready to fall in love with the energy of Armiger and her Texas style.
