Long before she signed a record deal, Kellie Pickler was making a name for herself on the American Idol stage as a charming and unknowingly comical country girl who won over millions of fans with her occasional ditzy demeanor and spunky spirit. After Pickler traded in life in the hills of Hollywood for a music career in the hills of Tennessee, she easily fit into trend of female empowerment that was reemerging in Nashville through young women like fellow Idol alum Carrie Underwood and superstar Taylor Swift with her lead-off single 'Red High Heels' from her original album 'Small-Town Girl' and current smash 'Best Days of Your Life' from her self-titled sophomore effort.

But in her new single 'Didn't You Know How Much I Loved You' (a track that has appeared on both albums), Pickler shows a more vulnerable side and plays the role of a woman still carrying the emotional

scars of a broken heart. A powerful ballad penned by Chris Lindsey, Aimee Mayo and Troy Verges, 'Didn't You Know How Much I Loved You' explores the question all women and men who were blind-sided and not ready to give up on a relationship inevitably ask themselves.

With references to making love and rocking her ex's world, the material grants Kellie Pickler an opportunity to respectfully demonstrate a maturity in her performance that allows her to be believable in her portrayal of a woman laden with a mixture of sadness and frustration while she is attempting to figure out what went wrong in a romance that abruptly ended that was much deeper than teenage puppy love. Secured firmly within the vein of countless songs of love gone wrong that have always been regnant in the country field, 'Didn't You Know How Much I Loved You' is not evolutionary, but it does provide further proof of why the formula continues to work after all these years: It is classic and relatable.

Kellie Pickler's vocals grow with power and show off her soprano range throughout the song that is filled with a catchy chorus and guitar riffs similar to Keith Urban's distinctive, radio-friendly style and will likely give one of America's favorite country girls another hit to add to her constantly expanding resume'.

"Didn't You Know How Much I Loved You" Lyrics

I remember the way you made love to me
Like I was all you'd ever need
Did you change your mind
Well I didn't change mine
Now here I am trying to make sense of it all
We were best friends now we don't even talk
You broke my heart
Ripped my world apart

Didn't you know how much I loved you
Didn't you know how much I loved you, baby
I gave you everything, every part of me
Didn't you feel it when I touched you
Didn't I rock you when I loved you, baby
Baby, tell me
Didn't you know how much I loved you

I can't get you out of my head
I still feel you in this bed
Left me all alone
You couldn't be more gone
From falling apart to fighting mad
From wanting you back to not giving a damn
I've felt it all
I've been to the wall

Didn't you know how much I loved you
Didn't you know how much I loved you, baby
I gave you everything, every part of me
Didn't you feel it when I touched you
Didn't I rock you when I loved you, baby
Baby, tell me
Didn't you know how much I loved you

One day justice will come and find you
And I'll be right there in your memory to remind you

Didn't you know how much I loved you
Didn't you know how much I loved you, baby
I gave you everything, every part of me
Didn't you feel it when I touched you
Didn't I rock you when I loved you, baby
Baby, tell me

Didn't you know how much I loved you
Didn't you know how much I loved you, baby
I gave you everything, every part of me
Didn't you feel it when I touched you
Didn't I rock you when I loved you, baby
Baby, tell me
I gave you everything, every part of me
