Lingo

I went to see Jason Coley Friday night, and the band Lingo opened for him.  Lingo is a southern-rock jam band from Marietta Georgia that really sounded like they were at home in Athens' Georgia Theater.  The Classic City is the birthplace of alternative music, and the guys were genuinely excited to be playing at my favorite venue .  More Southern rock than Country, Lingo is a great example of the diversity that's always been a part of  Georgia music, and if you're looking for the Widepsread Panic/R.E.M./Allman Brothers sound, you should definitely check out Lingo when they play near you.

Speaking of Widespread Panic, and R.E.M., Lingo's Through The Scattered Trees was produced by John Keane who's produced Widespread Panic, R.E.M. and a huge other assortment of great artists. No doubt the production is perfect, but don't let the smoke and mirrors fool you, they do a fine live show too.

I tried to figure out which song would fit more closely into the Country theme of my website.  But I also wanted you to hear my favorite song on their CD Through The Scattered Trees. So I'm putting up "Lost" and "Bank The World" songs on the website, and "Lost" into rotation.

  1. Locally grown and finger-lickin good. I caught these fellas in Augusta at a show by the river and at another show in Sautee last weekend. Both shows were OUTSTANDING. The Augusta show could have used more peoples but it didn’t take away from the quality of the set (Side-note, Augusta is just a real pecker about supporting real music). At the Sautee show it rained on our heads for 30 hours straight but once they began, it could have snowed and I’d have been screamin for just one more encore. I cannot wait to catch’m again.
