Reba McEntire "I Keep On Loving You"
Review by Amy Blizzard
Throughout her career Reba McEntire has quite successfully proven she is a master of multiple creative trades. After ending her tenure on the self-titled cable sitcom fans adored, McEntire dove back into her recording career with vigor. In 2009, she rose back up to the top of charts where she rightfully belongs with two hit singles and a number one album. Now, she is giving radio listeners the much anticipated third single and title track from 'I Keep On You Loving You', penned by her friend Ronnie Dunn and Terry McBride.
In the relents myriad of heartwarming ballads typically dominating Country radio stations at this time of year with Valentine's Day just around the corner that paint perfect pictures of romance, 'I Keep On
Loving You' is a breath of fresh air. Brilliantly performed by a living legend who is just as talented an actress as she is a singer, the ballad takes time to unmask the truth about love and relationships that is far from esoteric. McEntire acknowledges the difficult times in the suggested marriage filled with broken promises, cruel words that cannot be taken back, countless fights and sleepless nights that prompted the couple to think they might be better off apart than together.
But through all of their despair and trouble, the song's heroine continues to stay strong with guidance provided by her willpower and her mother's reminder of wisdom from the Bible that enables her to always love the man she married even when they are angry. However, always a champion for female empowerment, Reba McEntire's willingness to stay with her husband in the song is only referring to the type of behavior that a couple can change and alter that encompasses pain and frustration and should not be confused with severe spousal abuse.
In the beginning, 'I Keep On Loving You' pays homage to the country tunes of yesteryear with a droning steel guitar and laid back delivery, but towards the middle and end the ballad swells into a powerful crescendo that incorporates touches of more modern day sounds and allows McEntire to exercise her powerhouse pipes. From start to finish, the ballad is a pure delight.

"I Keep On Loving You" Lyrics
(Ronnie Dunn, Terry McBride)
Love takes the patience of Job
That's what my Mama always said
Faith is the belief in something more than what you know
That's what the Good Book says
You gotta play the cards you got
Who knows what fate is holding
At times you gotta go without knowing where you're going
That's why I keep on lovin' you
I keep on lovin' you
Through the baby don't leave mes
And never will agains
And I promise tos
I keep on lovin' you
Lord knows we've had our share of fights
Our sleepless nights, our ups and downs
We've had plenty and then some of baby I'm gones and turnarounds
Sometimes I swear it might be easier to throw in the towel
Someday we're gonna look back
Say look at us now
That's why I keep on lovin' you
I keep on lovin' you
Through the baby don't leave mes
And never will agains
And I promise tos
I keep on lovin' you
Keep on lovin' you
Through the I take it backs... I didn't mean it like thats
I'd never hurt yous... Oh, I keep on lovin' you
I keep on loving you... I keep on lovin' you
Through the I take it backs... I didn't mean it like that
I'd never hurt yous... Oh, I keep on lovin' you
I keep on lovin' you... I keep on loving you
