Sarah Buxton "Space" is making its way into Country Music Charts

The new song fro Sarah Buxton, "Space" is steadily moving up Country Music Charts, and with a little luck, could be 2009's "woman scorned" song of the year.  "Space" has garnered a well-rounded set of reviews that talk about the greatness of Buxton's songwriting chops.  With a voice that sounds like a mixture of Jewel and Sheryl Crow, Sarah Buxton's sound is a good fit for country music. Here's to some good success. "Space" is a great song, and I personally hope it does well.

Sarah Buxton

You may remember Sarah Buxton from her 2 top 40 hits "Innocence" and "That Kind of Day" which appeared on her previous album Almost My Record Sarah Buxton "Space" is making its way into Country Music Charts.  "Space" has the potential to top that, and put her squarely in the top 20 on Country Music's Charts.

Buxton's "Space" reviews

Sarah Buxton has scored a couple of previous Top 40 hit singles on her own but “Space” is by far the best thing she’s released to radio yet. It’s a song that both men and women can relate to and one that is sure to finally break this uniquely voiced singer/songwriter at radio. - RoughStock

I have a sneaking suspicion that Sarah Buxton will develop into a songwriter for the ages.   She’s getting there already.  “Space” builds a song around a classic break-up line - “I need space” - and explores all of its implications. - Country Music Universe

While Space doesn't have the same melodical drawing power of "That Kind Of Day" or "Stupid Boy", the gentle acoustic introduction that slowly builds into the chorus where it is met with steel.  - The Nashville Sound

.A sparse acoustic guitar intro pulls you in. Then as you strain to hear her whispery soft vocals, you can start to see where it’s going. The bastard is back, and now he wants space — a little time on his own, to clear out his mind, to not have to deal with anything real. - CMT Blog

Sarah Buxton - "Space" Lyrics

You say you want space
A little time on your own
To clear out your mind,
Really unwind, and just be alone

Things are moving too fast, going too far
Getting too close, too close to the heart

And now you want space
Well I’ll give you space
Plenty of space , all the space that you need
Does it make you feel free, make you feel young
How does it feel not to need anyone?
You say you want space
Well I’ll give you space

You need your own bed
You need your own room
Well how ‘bout an island
I bet you could find one
On the dark side of the moon

Then you won’t have to deal with anything real
‘Cause I won’t be here, I’ll just disappear

And you can have space
Honey, I’ll give you space
Plenty of space, all the space that you need
Does it make you feel free, make you feel young
How does it feel not to need anyone?
Oh, you say you need space
Baby, you can have space
I’ll give you space
